John Murphy Technical Analysis

John J. Murphy, former technical analyst for CNBC, has over 35 years of market experience, and is author of several best-selling books, including Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets – which is widely regarded as the standard reference in the field.

John has appeared on Bloomberg TV, CNN Moneyline, Nightly Business Report, and Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser, and he has been quoted in many prominent financial publications, including Barron’s.

In 1992, John was given the first award for outstanding contribution to global technical analysis by the International Federation of Technical Analysts, and is the recipient of the 2002 Market Technicians Association Annual Award.

He received a bachelor of arts in economics and an master of business administration from Fordham University.
